UPSC IFS Examination 2025 :  Educational Qualification Details

Candidates should meet the following Age Limit 

Minimum Age of the Candidate: 21 Years
Maximum Age of the Candidate: 32 Years
Candidates should be born between 02/08/1993 to 01/08/2004
Age Relaxation as per govt guidelines

SC/ST – 5 Years
OBC – 3 Years

1) Centres of Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination:

The Civil Services Examination will consist of Two Stages
a) Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) 
b) Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination
c) Interview

NUMBER OF ATTEMPT FOR EXAMINATION
Every candidate appearing at the Examination, who is otherwise eligible, shall be permitted six attempts at the examination

Paper-I

• Current events of national and international importance
•  History of India and Indian National Movement
•  Indian and World Geography- Physical, Social, Economic Geography of India and the World.
• Indian Polity and Governance- Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy,
• Rights Issues, etc.
• Economic and Social Development- Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion,Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.
• General issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change – that do not require subject specialization.
• General Science.

Paper-II

• Comprehension
• Interpersonal skills including communication skills
• Logical reasoning and analytical ability
• Decision making and problem solving
• General mental ability
• Basic numeracy (numbers and their relations, orders of magnitude, etc.(Class X level), Data interpretation (charts, graphs, tables, data sufficiency etc. – Class X level)

2. 10th/ 12th/+3 Pass Marksheet and Certificate.

3. Experience Certificate 

4.  Scanned Copy of one recent Passport size color Photograph in JPG Format.

5. Scanned Copy of Handwritten Signature in JPG Format

6. One ID Proof (Aadhar Card / Driving License / Voter ID)

• It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at One Time Registration (OTR) platform,
• Proceed for filling up the online application for the examination.
• One Time Registration (OTR) Profile (Registration) has to be registered only once in life time
• The Candidates can proceed straightway for filling up the Online Application for the examination
• Then submitted the application form after completion.
