Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL), a state‐owned power utility established on 29th March 2004, is responsible for transmitting electricity across Odisha. As part of its ongoing expansion and adoption of advanced technologies—such as System Automation, STAMS, drone‐based surveys, and PG‐DARPAN software—OPTCL invites applications for 100 posts of Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (Electrical) (JMOT) to be posted across various units in the Odisha state. Selected candidates will initially undergo one year of training and, upon successful completion, will be appointed as Assistant Technicians (NE-4) on probation

OPTCL JMOT Recruitment Notification 2025 – Educational Qualification

Junior Maintenance & Operator Trainee (Electrical) (JMOT)
To be eligible for JMOT (Electrical), a candidate must possess:

1. HSC (10+2) pass from a recognized Board (or equivalent).
2. National Trade Certificate in Electrician Trade from an institution recognized by SCTE&VT / NCVT, with at least 60% marks.
   • For SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, the minimum required marks percentage is reduced to 50%

Workmen Permit Requirement:

• Applicants must hold a Lineman‐MV Permit (with a learner permit for Workman‐HT) issued by the Electrical Licensing Board of Odisha (ELBO).
• ITI‐Electrician passed candidates are exempted from the ELBO Lineman exam but must submit the Workman Permit at the time of document verification. Failure to do so will lead to cancellation of candidature

• Unreserved (UR) and SEBC: ₹ 797 (₹ 675 + ₹ 122 GST)
• SC / ST / PwBD (Odisha): ₹ 443 (₹ 375 + ₹ 68 GST)

OPTCL JMOT Recruitment Notification 2025 – Salary Details

• Training Period Stipend: ₹ 17,000 per month for one year.
• Post-Training Appointment: Assistant Technician (NE-4) on probation for one year, with initial Basic Pay of ₹ 25,600 per month in the Pay Matrix (Level NE-(T)-4: ₹ 25,600 – ₹ 81,200).
• Additional Benefits: After appointment, candidates receive Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA) / company accommodation, Medical Allowance, Conveyance Allowance, NPS, medical insurance, and other applicable perks as per OPTCL rules.

OPTCL JMOT Recruitment Notification 2025 – Selection Process

• Online Application Screening: Check if the candidate meets eligibility criteria (age, qualification, workman permit, Odia language proficiency, etc.).
• CBT (Computer Based Test): All eligible applicants appear for the CBT at designated centers across Odisha (e.g., Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Berhampur, Balasore, Dhenkanal, etc.).
• Skill Test: Candidates who clear the CBT (category‐wise cutoff) are shortlisted in a 1:3 ratio for the Skill Test.
• Document Verification: Candidates qualifying in Skill Test must produce original documents (educational certificates, caste/PwBD/ex‐serviceman/sports certificates, Odia pass certificate, Workman permit, etc.).
• Medical Fitness: Final appointment is subject to passing a detailed Pre‐Employment Medical Examination as per OPTCL norms.
• Merit List & Appointment: Final merit is calculated as CBT (80%) + Skill Test (20%). Selected candidates receive appointment offer letters, complete medical clearance, and join as Assistant Technicians (NE-4) upon successful completion of one year of training.
