Educational Details

Office Assistants Multipurpose

Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent. Proficiency in the local language prescribed by the participating RRB is essential. Working knowledge of computers is desirable. No post qualification experience is prescribed for this post.

Officer Scale I Assistant Manager

Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or its equivalent. Preference is given to candidates having degrees in subjects such as Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy. Local language proficiency and working knowledge of computers are also mentioned. No post qualification experience is prescribed.

Officer Scale II General Banking Officer

A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent is required, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference is given to candidates with qualifications in areas such as Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.

The required experience is two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Officer Scale II Specialist Officers

  • For the Information Technology Officer, the notification requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology or an equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks. One year of relevant experience is required.
  • For Chartered Accountant, the candidate must be a Certified Associate from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with one year of experience as a Chartered Accountant.
  • For Law Officer, a Law degree or equivalent with at least 50% marks is required, along with two years as an advocate or experience as a Law Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution for at least two years.
  • For Treasury Manager, the qualification is Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance, with one year of relevant experience.
  • For Marketing Officer, an MBA in Marketing is required, along with one year of relevant experience.
  • For Agricultural Officer, a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Horticulture, Dairy, Animal Husbandry, Forestry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering or Pisciculture with at least 50% marks is required, along with two years of relevant experience.

Officer Scale III Senior Manager

  • Candidates need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognised university or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks. Preference is given to candidates having a Degree or Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy.
  • A minimum of five years of experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institution is required.

Preliminary Examination

The Preliminary Examination is applicable to Office Assistants and Officer Scale I. Both posts have 80 questions carrying 80 marks, with a total duration of 45 minutes.

Main Examination

For both Office Assistants and Officer Scale I, the Main Examination contains 200 questions for 200 marks and has a duration of 120 minutes. Candidates can choose either English Language or Hindi Language.

For Office Assistants, the subjects are Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English or Hindi Language and Numerical Ability.

For Officer Scale I, the subjects are Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, General Awareness, English or Hindi Language and Quantitative Aptitude.

Officer Scale II General Banking Officer and Officer Scale III have 200 questions, 200 marks and 120 minutes. The subjects are Reasoning, Computer Knowledge, Financial Awareness, English or Hindi Language and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation.

Officer Scale II Specialist Officers have 240 questions carrying 200 marks with a duration of 150 minutes. Their paper includes Professional Knowledge, Reasoning, Financial Awareness, English or Hindi Language, Computer Knowledge and Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation.

Selection Process

The selection process depends on the post.

  • For Office Assistants Multipurpose, candidates first appear for the Preliminary Examination. Shortlisted candidates then appear for the Main Examination. Provisional allotment is based on marks obtained in the Main Examination and actual vacancies reported by the RRBs.
  • For Officer Scale I, candidates have to qualify in the Preliminary Examination and then appear in the Main Examination. Candidates shortlisted from the Main Examination are called for a Common Interview.
  • For Officer Scale II and Scale III, candidates appear for a Single Online Examination. Shortlisted candidates are subsequently called for the Common Interview.
  • The interview carries 100 marks. The minimum qualifying marks are 40%, with 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates. The relative weightage of the Online Examination and Interview for the Officers cadre is 80:20.
  • For Office Assistants, only Main Examination marks are considered for final merit. For Officer Scale I, Main Examination marks are considered for interview shortlisting and final merit. For Officer Scale II and III, marks from the Single Online Examination are considered.

How to Apply

Candidates can apply online only from 1 September 2026 to 21 September 2026. No other application mode is accepted.

The application process given in the notification is:

  • Visit the official IBPS website and open the CRP for RRBs section.
  • Select the appropriate online application link for Officers or Office Assistants.
  • Click on New Registration.
  • Enter the required basic information.
  • Note the provisional registration number and password generated by the system.
  • Upload the required photograph, signature, left thumb impression and handwritten declaration.
  • Upload the SSC, SSLC, Class 10 or equivalent certificate.
  • Upload the applicable disability certificate or UDID card and other applicable certificates.
  • Capture and upload the photograph through webcam or mobile phone as required.
  • Carefully verify all details before clicking Complete Registration.
  • Pay the application fee online.
  • Save

Essential Documents

The notification requires candidates to produce original documents and self attested photocopies at the relevant stage. These include the interview call letter, online application form, proof of date of birth, valid photo identity proof, educational qualification certificates and applicable experience certificates.

Can a candidate apply for Office Assistant and Officer Scale I?

Yes. A candidate can apply for Office Assistants and also apply for one post in the Officers cadre. However, only one Officers post can be selected among Scale I, Scale II and Scale III.
