Overview for Assam Rifles Tradesman Recruitment
he Office of the Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong, has issued the Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026 notification for recruitment against 354 vacancies in various Group C posts. The recruitment rally is tentatively scheduled from 23 November 2026 onwards.

Educational Qualification

Warrant Officer, Cipher
- Candidates should have Passed 10+2 or Intermediate Examination in Science with Physics, Mathematics and English from a recognized State Board, Central Board of Secondary Education or Industrial Training Institute course of minimum two years with NSQF Level 4 or above in Information and Communication Technology, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Instrumental Technology or Electronics and Communication Technology. OR
- Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Information and Communication Technology from a recognized university or institution.
Rifleman, Electrical Fitter Signal
- Candidates should have Class 10 or Matriculation pass from a recognized Board.
- Two years of technical training from an Industrial Training Institute in the relevant technical fields, or a minimum two or three years Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electrician, Power Distribution, Electrician Instrument Technology, Instrument Mechanic, Technician Power Electronic System, Technician Electronic System Design and Repair.
Rifleman, Lineman Field
- Candidates should have Class 10 or Matriculation pass from a recognized Board.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST
The RFID Based Physical Efficiency Test is conducted for candidates who qualify in the initial verification. For most candidates, the notification provides the following running requirements:
Male Candidates
• 5 km run to qualify within 24 minutes.
Ladakh Region Male Candidates
• 1.6 km run to qualify within 7 minutes.

TRADE SKILL TEST
The Trade Skill Test applies to Technical and Tradesman personnel. The notification states that the Trade Skill Test will be based on the Trade Test and Specific Practical Skill Test. No marks will be awarded for the Trade Skill Test. Candidates who qualify in the Trade Skill Test will become eligible for Documents Verification and Detailed Medical Examination.The notification states that shortlisting for the Trade Skill Test will be based on merit in the Computer Based Test and will be about four times the number of vacancies in each trade or category
