Technical Assistant, Automobile Engineering
Candidates must have:
- First Class Diploma in Automobile Engineering.
Technical Assistant, Mechanical
Candidates must have:
- First Class Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, or
- First Class Diploma in Production Engineering.
Technical Assistant, Electronics and Communication
Candidates must have:
- First Class Diploma in Electronics Engineering, or
- First Class Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, or
- First Class Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, or
- First Class Diploma in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering.
Technician B, Turner
Candidates must have:
- Passed SSLC, SSC, Matriculation or 10th Standard.
- ITI in Turner Trade with NTC from NCVT, or
- NAC from NCVT.
Technician B, Fitter
Candidates must have:

Exam Pattern
The recruitment has different selection arrangements depending on the post.
- For Technical Assistant, Technician B and Cook A, the selection includes a Written Test followed by Skill Test.
- For Fireman A, the selection includes a Written Test, Physical Efficiency Test and Detailed Medical Examination.
Technical Assistant and Technician B Written Test
The Written Test is based on the academic curriculum of the prescribed qualification.

The Skill Test is conducted on a Go or No Go basis. It carries 100 marks, and candidates need 50 marks to qualify. For reserved categories, the qualifying mark is 40 wherever the post is reserved for the respective category.
Cook A Written Test
The Cook A Written Test has:
- 100 Multiple Choice Questions.
- Duration of 120 minutes.
- One mark for each correct answer.
- 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and is conducted for 100 marks. Candidates need at least 60 marks to qualify.
Fireman A Written Test
The Fireman A Written Test consists of:

The Fireman A test includes questions related to the syllabus specified by IPRC.
Selection Procedure
The selection process is different for Fireman A and the other posts.
For Technical Assistant, Technician B and Cook A, candidates first appear in the Written Test. Candidates who qualify are then considered for the relevant Skill Test. The Skill Test is conducted on a Go or No Go basis, and the final selection is based on Written Test scores among candidates who qualify the Skill Test.
For Technical Assistant and Technician B, candidates who qualify the Written Test are shortlisted for Skill Test in a 1:5 ratio, with a minimum of 10 applicants for a post.
For Fireman A, candidates who qualify the Written Test and meet the Preliminary Medical Examination requirements are shortlisted for the Physical Efficiency Test in a 1:50 ratio. The Physical Efficiency Test is qualifying in nature. Candidates must qualify all required events before moving to the Detailed Medical Examination. Candidates who qualify the Detailed Medical Examination are considered for empanelment according to Written Test marks.
