The State Bank of India has invited online applications from eligible Indian citizens for appointment to various Specialist Cadre Officers posts on contract basis. The recruitment is being conducted under Advertisement No. CRPD/SCO/2026-27/23

Qualification

Educational qualification varies according to the post. The eligibility date for the qualifications and experience mentioned in the detailed post wise requirements is 31 August 2026.

Zonal Head

Candidates must be graduates from a government recognised university or institution.

The preferred qualifications include an MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60 percent from a recognised university or institution. The notification also mentions CFP, CFA, NISM V A, NISM Investment Advisor and NISM 21 A as preferred qualifications.

The mandatory experience is a minimum of 15 years of experience in managing sales in Wealth Management, Retail Banking or AMCs, including at least five years of experience leading a large team of Relationship Managers and Team Leads, preferably in Wealth Management Firms or AMCs.

Regional Head

Candidates must be graduates from a government recognised university or institution.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60 percent, along with CFP, CFA, NISM V A, NISM Investment Advisor or NISM 21 A.

The required experience is at least 12 years of post qualification experience in relationship management, preferably in wealth management with leading public, private or foreign banks, wealth management firms or AMCs. The notification also requires more than five years of experience leading a large team of Relationship Managers or a Team Lead.

Relationship Manager Team Lead

A graduate degree from a government recognised university or institution is mandatory.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60 percent and certifications such as CFP, CFA, NISM V A, NISM Investment Advisor and NISM 21 A.

The candidate should have at least 8 years of post qualification experience in relationship management, preferably in wealth management with leading public, private or foreign banks, broking or securities firms or AMCs. Team Lead experience is preferred.

Investment Specialist

Candidates need a professional qualification in a PG Degree or PG Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance or Actuarial Science from a recognised college or university, or CA or CFA.

Preferred qualifications include CA, CFP, CFA, NISM Investment Advisor, Research Analyst Certificate and NISM 21 A certification.

At least 6 years of post qualification experience as an investment advisor, counsellor, officer or part of a product team in Wealth Management Firms or AMCs is required.

Investment Officer

The educational qualification is similar to the Investment Specialist post. Candidates need a relevant PG Degree or PG Diploma in Finance, Accountancy, Business Management, Commerce, Economics, Capital Markets, Banking, Insurance or Actuarial Science from a recognised college or university, or CA or CFA.

The mandatory experience is at least 4 years of post qualification experience as an investment advisor, counsellor, officer or part of a product team in Wealth Management Firms or AMCs.

VP Wealth

Candidates must have graduation from a government recognised university or institution.

Preferred qualifications include an MBA in Banking, Finance or Marketing with 60 percent and certifications such as NISM V A, XXI A, CFP or CFA.

The essential experience is 6 years in sales and marketing with leading public, private or foreign banks, Wealth Management Firms or AMCs. The preferred experience includes at least six years as a Relationship Manager or similar role, preferably in wealth management.

AVP Wealth

Candidates must be graduates from a government recognised university or institution.

The notification gives preference to candidates with post graduation in Finance, Marketing or Banking. Certifications such as NISM V A, XXI A, CFP and CFA are also mentioned as preferred.

The mandatory experience is 3 years in sales and marketing with leading public, private or foreign banks, Wealth Management Firms, AMCs or SBI Wealth CREs having four years of experience. Preferred experience is at least three years as a Relationship Manager or similar role, preferably in wealth management

Selection Process:

  • The selection process begins with shortlisting. Merely meeting the minimum educational qualification and experience does not guarantee that a candidate will be called for an interview.
  • The shortlisting committee constituted by SBI will decide the shortlisting parameters and determine the number of candidates to be called.
  • Shortlisted candidates will then appear for one or more rounds of personal, telephonic or video interviews. CTC negotiation will also take place individually during or after the interview process.The interview carries 100 marks. The final merit list will be prepared in descending order based on the interview marks only. If two or more candidates obtain the same marks at the cut off point, the candidate who is older will be ranked higher.

What is the application fee?

UR, EWS and OBC candidates have to pay Rs 750. SC, ST and PwBD candidates do not have to pay the application fee or intimation charge

Can candidates change their preferred circle later?

No. Candidates applying for the five circle based posts have to select three different circles. The notification states that requests to change circle preference will not be entertained
