Salary Details

  • The Local Bank Officer post is in JMG/S I scale.
  • The basic pay scale given in the notification is:
  • Rs. 48,480 to Rs. 85,920
  • The scale is shown in the notification as 48,480, 2,000, 62,480, 2,340, 67,160, 2,680, 85,920 with the applicable increment structure.

Probation

The selected candidate will remain on probation for 12 months of active service from the date of joining the Bank.

Posting

  • For the first 12 years of service, or until promotion to SMGS IV grade, whichever is earlier, selected candidates will be posted within the state for which they applied.
  • After that period, they may be posted by the Bank to any branch or office of the Bank or to any place in India.

SERVICE BOND

  • Selected candidates have to execute a service bond according to the Bank’s prevailing policies.
  • The current bond requires the selected candidate to serve the Bank for a minimum period of three years after joining. If the candidate leaves before completing three years of active service, the candidate is required to pay an amount equivalent to three months’ gross salary, subject to a maximum of Rs. 2 lakh.
  • The notification also states that these terms can be revised according to the Bank’s prevailing policies.

The candidates belongs to UR/EWS/OBC category have to pay 850+charges as application fees. but SC/ST/PWD/ESM/Women candidates need to pay 175+charges as application fees.

Educational Qualification

  • The minimum educational qualification is straightforward. Candidates must have graduation in any discipline from a recognized University or Institution.
  • The notification also lists some preferred certifications. These include IC 38 from the Insurance Institute of India, NISM Series V A, NISM Series XXI A and NISM Series XIII certifications. These are mentioned as preferred certifications and not as the mandatory educational qualification.
  • The educational qualification must be from a college, institution or university recognized by the Government of India, Government bodies or AICTE.
  • Candidates should also correctly calculate and mention their graduation or post graduation percentage in the online application. Where CGPA or OGPA is awarded, it has to be converted into percentage according to the applicable university norms

Post Qualification Experience:

Work experience is mandatory for this recruitment.

Candidates must have at least one year of post qualification experience as an officer in any Scheduled Commercial Bank listed in the Second Schedule of the Reserve Bank of India.

Experience in the clerical cadre will not be considered for determining eligibility. The Bank also states that post qualification experience of less than six months in any organization as on 1 August 2026 will not be considered, except where that experience is part of the candidate’s current employment.

Age Limit:

The minimum age varies from 21 to 30 years, Relaxation in upper age limit is applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwD/Ex-Servicemen as per government rules.

Selection Process:

  • The selection process may include an online examination, Group Discussion, Personal Interview, Psychometric Test or other methods as decided by the Bank.
  • The notification says that candidates qualifying in the online test may be called for further selection processes and interview. The Bank also reserves the right to modify or add selection methods.
  • Candidates shortlisted through the online examination may have to qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test. The candidate must be able to read, write, speak and understand the local language of the state applied for.
  • Candidates who produce a Class 10 or Class 12 marksheet or certificate showing that they studied the specified local language as a subject do not have to appear for the language proficiency test.
  • Group Discussion and Personal Interview
  • Candidates may be shortlisted for Group Discussion and or Personal Interview based on their online examination performance, vacancies and cut off criteria.
  • The minimum qualifying marks mentioned for GD or PI are 60 percent for General category candidates and 55 percent for Reserved category candidates. The Bank can change the qualifying criteria at its discretion.
  • Candidates who fail to qualify GD or PI will not be considered for final selection.
  • The final scores may be calculated using the online examination, Personal Interview, Group Discussion and or any other selection method used by the Bank
